Which DHA exam is yours? How to find your title in the CBT guideline: nurse, physician, dentist, pharmacist or allied

Short answer: Open DHA’s CBT Guideline, find the group for your profession, then your exact title. Its header line gives the code, number of questions, duration and pass score, and a list names the content areas. Pharmacists sit under allied health, and titles not listed there use an oral assessment instead.

How do you find your exam in DHA’s guideline?

DHA publishes one PDF for all its computer-based exams, called the Healthcare Professional Licensing Assessment Guideline, Computer Based Testing, shortened to CBT Guideline. The cover we read said “Updated - Sep 2026”. Inside, each title has a header line and a list of the areas the exam covers. Finding yours takes a few minutes if you know what to look for. Meddex is independent and is not connected to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Prometric.

Key facts and where they come from

All from DHA’s CBT Guideline unless stated, read 15, 16 and 18 October 2026.

  • 118 titles are listed, in groups: nurses and midwives, physicians, dentists, allied health and traditional, complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM).
  • Allied health has 47 titles, counted on 16 October 2026. Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician are filed there, not in a separate pharmacy group.
  • Each title has a code, a number of questions, a stated duration and a pass score. Every title also lists content headings, with no weights.
  • Titles not listed in the guideline use an oral assessment instead. Source: guideline preview page.
  • The guideline prints a fee per title. Meddex does not quote it, so read it there.
  • DHA may change the content, format or pass score without updating the document.

Five steps to read your row

Follow them in order.

  1. Find the group for your profession. If you are a pharmacist, look under allied health.
  2. Find your exact title, not a similar one. A General Dentist and an Implantology row differ in pass score, and a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife differ in content.
  3. Copy the code, the number of questions, the duration and the pass score, and write the date you read them.
  4. Copy the content headings, in DHA’s order. They are headings, not weights.
  5. Read the reference list for your title if it has one. See what the guideline lists as references.

How much do titles differ?

More than most people expect, so a general rule from a forum often misleads. These rows are from the guideline, read on 15 and 16 October 2026.

Where can you compare all the rows?

Our page on DHA exam format and pass mark by title holds every row of the guideline, copied and checked against the PDF on 16 October 2026, with the source and date. If your title has a page of its own, such as nurses, doctors, dentists, pharmacists or allied health, use it for context and use the guideline for the final numbers.

Why your result on a search page may not match your row

A search result may quote the row for another title, or an older version of the guideline. Why sources disagree on the number of questions shows how that happens. Whenever a number matters for a plan or a mock, go back to the row.

What mistakes do people make when reading the guideline?

Most mistakes come from reading too quickly.

  • Reading the row for a similar title, such as a specialist row when you are a consultant, or a technician row when you are a technologist.
  • Copying a pass score from a page that gives no date or title.
  • Treating the content headings as weights. They are lists, and DHA prints no percentages.
  • Using an older copy of the guideline. Copies exist on third-party sites, so open the file hosted by DHA and read the date on its cover.
  • Forgetting that the duration includes registration time, so the time for questions is shorter than the figure printed.
