DHA mock test: how long it should be for your title, how to sit one and what a score does not tell you

Short answer: A useful DHA mock matches the official format of your title: 150 questions in three hours for a Registered Nurse, General Practice, General Dentist and Pharmacist, 100 for consultants, and fewer for some allied titles. Sit it timed, review every item, and remember that a mock score does not predict a DHA result.

How long should a DHA mock test be?

As long as the real exam for your title, which is not the same for everyone. DHA’s CBT Guideline lists the questions and duration per title. For most general titles that is 150 questions in three hours, and the three hours include registration and introduction time. A mock that is shorter than the real thing trains the wrong stamina. Meddex is independent and is not connected to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Prometric.

Key facts and where they come from

From DHA’s CBT Guideline, cover reads “Updated - Sep 2026”, read 15 and 16 October 2026.

  • Registered Nurse, General Practice, General Dentist, Pharmacist: 150 questions, 3 hours.
  • Consultants: 100 questions, 3 hours, pass score 70 percent.
  • Some allied titles: 100 questions in 2 hours, and Laser Hair Reduction titles 70 questions in 2 hours.
  • The stated duration includes registration, introduction and exam content.
  • DHA does not state the number of options per question, whether every item is single best answer, whether some items are unscored, or whether there is negative marking.

What pace does each format imply?

These sums are ours and are upper limits, because registration time comes out of the total.

How to sit a mock like the real exam

Pick a time of day like your booked slot. Switch off your phone. Do not pause. Use the on-screen tools you will have: flagging, the question list and the clock. Check the clock at fixed points, and flag any question that has taken more than a minute and a half. Time management for 150-question and 120-question exams sets out checkpoints.

Then give the review at least as long as the test. The mock exam analysis guide turns a score into a plan, and the earlier guide on how many mocks to take and when covers the schedule.

Which professions have a full mock in Meddex?

Meddex offers full-length timed mocks for nurses and physicians, where the question bank is large enough. For dentists, pharmacists and allied health, the product has practice sets, not a full mock, and the allied titles have no bank yet, so check the app before you plan around it. The test series page describes the mocks, and the free ten-question assessment gives a quick baseline without sign-up.

What a mock score can and cannot tell you

It can tell you which areas to repair, whether your pace holds for three hours and whether a topic is a real weakness or a one-off slip. It cannot tell you your DHA result. Meddex questions are original and are not DHA questions, DHA does not publish its pass rate or a blueprint with weights, and your own result depends on the day. The 60 percent figure some practice tools use is a Meddex planning benchmark, not DHA’s figure for your title, which may be 50, 55 or higher.

What should you record after each mock?

A mock gives you more than a score. Write down five things so that the next plan comes from data.

  • Your score by domain or heading, and which one is lowest.
  • Where you were at each time checkpoint, compared with the pace in the table above.
  • How many questions you flagged and how many you changed. Changing many answers at the end is a signal to review your reasons.
  • The three rules you learned from the misses, in one line each.
  • How you felt at the end. A sharp drop in the last quarter points to stamina, not knowledge.
