Prometric check-in for the DHA exam: what DHA states, what is only reported and what to check on your confirmation

Short answer: DHA’s manual says to arrive 30 minutes early with a valid passport that matches your registration, and that fees are not refunded. Reports say DHA exams run only at biometric-enabled Prometric centres, with fingerprint capture, but we could not open Prometric’s pages. Check your booking confirmation for centre rules.

What happens when you check in at Prometric for the DHA exam?

Some of it is stated by DHA and some is reported by third parties and search snippets of Prometric’s own pages, which blocked our scripted access on 15 and 16 October 2026. We kept the two apart below. For the usual routine on the day, see the test centre day guide and the exam day checklist. Meddex is independent and is not connected to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Prometric.

Key facts and where they come from

Official statements first, read 15 October 2026.

  • Official: arrive 30 minutes before the appointment. Source: Assessment Manual 7.2.5.
  • Official: bring a valid passport that matches your registration. Source: Assessment Manual 7.2.10.
  • Official: you need the Eligibility ID from your Sheryan account to book. Source: Assessment Manual 7.2.2.
  • Official: reschedule or cancel five calendar days before; fees are non-refundable; a cancelled or missed exam is not a failed attempt. Source: Assessment Manual 7.2.7, 4.24 and 4.15.
  • Official: DHA says candidates may attend the assessment in any Prometric centre across the globe. Source: Sheryan FAQ.
  • Official: the exam is run by DHA’s partner Prometric, and the stated duration includes registration and introduction. Source: CBT Guideline.
  • Reported only: DHA exams are available at biometric-enabled centres, with fingerprint capture at check-in.
  • Reported only: Prometric cannot deliver DHA exams in France, Greece, Ireland and South Africa because of local law.
  • Reported only: a strict no-refund policy, and Prometric does not sell prep or practice content.

What should you check before you leave?

Check the name on your confirmation against your passport, letter by letter. DHA’s manual says a mismatch should be raised with DHA at least five days before the exam. Check the centre address and the time. Read the confirmation for what you may bring, since the rules on personal items are set by the centre and the provider and we did not read them.

What identity checks should you expect?

DHA’s manual describes identity checks and says to bring a valid passport. Reports say fingerprint capture is part of check-in at biometric-enabled centres. Treat that as likely and not confirmed, and expect also a photo and a check that your passport matches the booking. Arrive with the 30 minutes in hand, since a long queue or a slow check is not a reason to be late.

What about belongings and breaks?

We do not know. Prometric’s tutorial and candidate pages, which would state the rules on lockers, breaks, scratch material and what the screen looks like, were not readable for us. Our guide on what to do before you hand in your phone is a calm routine for the door, but the centre’s own instructions come first.

Sitting the exam abroad

DHA says any Prometric centre across the globe. The reported country limits mean you should confirm that your country and centre can deliver DHA exams before you plan travel, and our page on DHA exam centres and booking from abroad says what DHA does and does not state.

A calm plan for the first hour

This is our suggestion, built from what DHA states and ordinary good practice.

  1. The night before: put your passport and booking confirmation by the door. Check the name on both once more.
  2. Travel with margin. Plan to reach the centre well before the 30 minutes DHA states, so that a delay does not eat into it.
  3. At the desk: follow the staff instructions exactly. Do not argue about a rule. Ask calmly if you are unsure what is allowed.
  4. While you wait: do not revise from your phone, since you may have to hand it in. Breathe slowly instead. See the phone-handover checklist.
  5. At the screen: read any tutorial, since we could not read Prometric’s, and check how the clock and the question list work before you answer the first question.
