DHA exam result: pass or fail only, and what the learning outcome letter shows

Short answer: DHA says the computer-based exam result is pass or fail only, and the score and a topic review are not shared. Prometric sends a learning outcome letter on general strengths and weaknesses that does not show the result. DHA’s two sources disagree on timing: within two working days, or instantly.

Will DHA tell you your score?

No. According to DHA, the result of a computer-based exam is pass or fail. The score is not shared, and neither is a review of topics. What you can receive is a learning outcome letter that gives general strengths and weaknesses. This guide sets out what each document says and how to use it, especially if you did not pass. Meddex is independent and is not connected to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Prometric.

Key facts and where they come from

Official statements, with the document and the date we read it.

  • The result type is pass or fail only. Score and topic review are not shared. Source: CBT Guideline and Assessment Manual 4.6, read 15 October 2026.
  • DHA calculates results “based on the number of correct answers and the weighting of each domain”. Source: Assessment Manual 7.2.13.
  • Prometric sends a learning outcome letter with general strengths and weaknesses, which does not show the result. Source: Assessment Manual 7.2.13.
  • Timing: results are uploaded to Sheryan “within 2 working days” (Assessment Manual 7.2.14), while the Sheryan FAQ says Prometric results “are shared instantly”. The two DHA sources disagree.
  • A pass leads to a registration certificate valid one year from the result date. Source: Assessment Manual 4.7.
  • Three attempts are allowed per position. Source: Assessment Manual 4.9.

When do you find out?

Both statements come from DHA, and they conflict. One says the result is uploaded to Sheryan within two working days. The other says results are shared instantly. We have asked no one and do not know which describes your sitting. Plan for the longer one: do not book flights, leave or a start date that depends on knowing within the hour, and check Sheryan on the day and again two working days later.

What is the learning outcome letter?

It is a letter from Prometric that describes general strengths and weaknesses. DHA says it does not show the result. So it is not a score report, and it will not tell you how close you were. If you did not pass, treat it as a rough pointer to where to look first, and not as a diagnosis. We have not seen a sample letter, so we cannot say how detailed it is.

The weighting point matters here. Because DHA weights each domain and does not publish the weights, a weak domain in the letter may have cost more or fewer marks than its share of questions suggests.

What should you do if you did not pass?

Use the letter, then build your own evidence, since DHA gives you none. List the areas you remember struggling with, in the order you felt it, without copying any question text, because DHA forbids sharing assessment questions. Take a mixed timed set and a by-subject breakdown to see which areas match the letter. Then rebuild a plan around those areas. Our guide on what to do if you fail and attempts and the fourth attempt cover the rules.

What happens if you pass?

DHA states that a pass gives a registration certificate valid for one year from the result date. After that, the steps depend on your file and your employer. See after you pass the DHA exam for what to expect, and note which clocks start.

What should you record after the result?

Write down the date and time you saw the result in Sheryan, and keep a copy of any letter. If you did not pass, note your attempt number against the three DHA allows per position, and the date. Those records matter if you later need to declare attempts, which DHA requires across all UAE authorities. Keep your own notes about what felt hard, but never record question text.
