DHA exam pass rate and attempts.
What DHA publishes about results, how many attempts you get, and why a "pass rate" figure needs a source.
Short answer: In the DHA documents we read, there is no published pass rate. DHA publishes a pass score for each title, gives results as pass or fail only, and allows three attempts per position. A percentage of candidates who pass that does not name a DHA source cannot be checked, so treat it with care.
Is there an official DHA pass rate?
We read DHA's CBT Guideline (cover reads "Updated - Sep 2026"), its Manual for DHA Professional Assessment (v1.1), its Manual for Licensing Healthcare Professionals (v1.3), the PQR and the Sheryan FAQ. None of them states the share of candidates who pass, by title or overall. That is not proof that DHA holds no figure, only that we found none in the public documents.
You may see percentages quoted on commercial and consultancy pages, including in search summaries we saw on 16 October 2026. We did not find a DHA source for those figures. Candidates differ by title, country and preparation, so one number could not describe you anyway.
Do not confuse a pass rate with a pass score. The pass score is the share of marks a candidate needs, set per title, and DHA does publish it. The page on format and pass mark by title lists it.
What your result looks like
DHA says the result is pass or fail only, and that your score and a topic breakdown are not shared. So a failed attempt does not tell you which areas to fix. That is one reason to review your own practice results by topic before you book.
On when results appear, DHA's two sources differ. The Assessment Manual says results are uploaded to Sheryan within two working days, and the Sheryan FAQ says Prometric results are shared instantly. Plan for the later of the two.
How many attempts you get
These rules are from DHA's Assessment Manual and Licensing Manual.
- You get three attempts per position. DHA may reduce this to one or two if it finds a major competency gap.
- There is no waiting period between attempts, subject to appointment availability.
- A cancelled or missed exam is not counted as a failed attempt, and the fee is not refunded.
- Failed attempts at every UAE health authority must be declared. A fourth attempt may be possible with a declaration letter about attempts elsewhere.
- After a third failure you are blocked from reapplying for two years, with limited exceptions. A new set of three attempts is possible after a further recognised qualification or at least two years of licensed experience since your last attempt.
| Rule | What DHA states | Label |
|---|---|---|
| Attempts per position | Three | Official |
| Gap between attempts | No time restriction, subject to availability | Official |
| Result format | Pass or fail only, no score or topic report | Official |
| Cancelled or missed exam | Not a failed attempt, no refund | Official |
| After a third failure | Blocked from reapplying for two years, limited exceptions | Official |
| Pass validity | Registration certificate valid for one year from the result date | Official |
| A published pass rate | Not found in the documents we read | Not stated |
How long a pass lasts
A pass leads to a registration certificate valid for one year from the result date, according to the Assessment Manual. A pass that is more than two years old may need a new assessment if you have a gap in practice. These are validity periods, not forecasts of how long licensing takes.
What to do with this
Do not plan around a pass rate. Plan around the pass score for your title, a realistic study schedule and mocks that match your paper length. Use the practice results you generate yourself, by topic, to decide when you are ready. We give no promise and no prediction: a mock result is a planning benchmark, not a forecast of your DHA result.
